Reuben bites might just be the new go-to recipe for duck hunters.
For a little while, Cabela's has been putting out a wide variety of wild-game recipes. Just about all of them are favorites any outdoorsman would love to cook. One of their most recent recipes, though, seems like something you'd find in a fancy restaurant as a $20 appetizer. These duck rueben bites are sure to be a hit.
While there are a lot of ingredients involved here, if you're prepared in advance, you shouldn't have any problems.
Bacon-Wrapped Duck Rueben Bites
Ingredients
- 3-4 wild duck breasts
- 2 cups water
- 1 tablespoon pickling spices
- 4 teaspoon Kosher salt
- 2 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon granulated garlic
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 12 strips thin-sliced bacon
- 1 cup sauerkraut
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
