Wyoming Game and Fish Department stocked 70,000 fish with a helicopter.
Fish stocking is nothing new. It happens all the time across the U.S. and abroad. What might not be quite so typical, though, is using a helicopter to stock your favorite fishing hole. Well, that's exactly what Wyoming Game and Fish Departments is doing in the video below.
Fish are loaded into various compartments inside a master device attached to the bottom of the helicopter. The pilot navigates to selected areas and releases each chamber individually. He can release anywhere from one chamber to all eight chambers at the push of a button. The fish then free falls and are stocked into their new lake home in spectacular fashion.
During this project near the Alpine Lakes, Wyoming Game and Fish stocked more than 70,000 fish in 50 different bodies of water.
