An enterprising grouper hung around long enough to get a free lionfish from a spear fisherman.
Lionfish are bad enough without all the spines. Once they move onto a reef they breed like rats and take over for miles. In the process they drive out and out compete native fish for food and resources.
Enter the grouper and all its lionfish eating prowess:
As the invasive lionfish gains in numbers, so do divers and fishermen everywhere join together to fight this scourge of the reefs.
Tournaments are now being held in places like Florida with cash and prizes for the most and biggest.
Now we've just got to get out there and do our part like this diver and his buddy with the appetite for free fish.
