Brown trout are pigs and this proves it.
Dennis Barela, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, placed a cream egg fly so well in front of this big brown trout that it totally forgot about the fish it was already eating.
The NM Game and Fish Facebook page posted a photo of the happy fisherman and his catch, saying he caught it somewhere on the San Juan River. Barela said he was using a 9-foot, 4-piece, 5-weight Redington fly rod.
It's very typical for large predatory fish like this to feed heavily, which is beneficial for anglers.
The big brown was listed at 31 inches long and 20 pounds, although it's unlikely this fish actually weighed that much.
