BMW Releases Teaser for 2021-Bound All-Electric SUV, iNext

BMW has released a teaser for the iNext, its autonomous, all-electric SUV set to go into production in 2021. Is the automaker set to take over the EV world?

First introduced in concept form as the Vision Dynamics Concept in 2017, the single BMW iNext teaser image shows a silhouetted SUV body with squarish wheel arches and a sloping roofline. The image also incorporates three or four hues stretching a blue to shaded, white scale, obscuring finer body lines.

The Future is (Basically) Here

"The iNext project is our building kit for the future," said BMW AG chairman Harald Krüger at BMW's annual meeting last week. "It will benefit the entire company and all our brands. For the first time, we are combining all key technologies for future mobility in one vehicle. The iNext is fully-electric, fully-connected and also offers highly automated driving. Later this year, we will be presenting the BMW iNext as a Vision Vehicle."

The iNext will offer three different battery sizes offering between 280 miles and 435-miles of range. It will also feature gesture control and Level 3 autonomy, with Level 4 upgrade capability subject to regulation allowances.
