Boring Company head Elon Musk announced its first Los Angeles tunnel is now close to completion, posting a new time-lapse video on Instagram.
Watch the clip blaze through the tunnel, a few traffic lights, and construction workers before ending with the Boring Company logo.

We'll Believe It When We See It
The 2.7-mile stretch of tunnel in West Los Angeles, designed for pedestrians and cyclists, starts at SpaceX's headquarters in Hawthorne, California and heads towards Los Angeles International Airport.
Musk also offered "free rides to the public in a few months," with regular fares costing less than a bus ticket. Part of the Boring Company's Loop transportation system, it uses "pods" proposed to run across a 60-mile stretch, with free rides contingent upon the brand acquiring regulatory approval.
What's Amtrak?
Within the next two years, the Boring Company is also planning a Los Angeles to San Francisco and New York to DC route. Founded in 2016, the Boring Company was started in response to Elon Musk's growing frustrations regarding traffic in his adopted hometown of Los Angeles.
"Will still transport cars, but only after all personalized mass transit needs are met," Musk tweeted at the time. "It's a matter of courtesy & fairness. If someone can't afford a car, they should go first."
