Winchester's prototype Mag-Fed Garand was a quest for more firepower.
Ian from Forgotten Weapons got a chance to examine this historic weapon. Take a look at this box magazine-fed M1 Garand Rifle.
The M1 Garand is the semi-automatic rifle played a key role in World War Two for the U.S. military. It's relative low capacity caused it to loose ground as a service rifle.
Winchester made some prototypes to address this problem. A box magazine-fed M1 Garand Rifle might just be the winner. Ian from Forgotten Weapons got a chance to do a thorough examination of this concept with weapons from the Buffalo Bill Center at the Cody Firearms Museum.
A big shout out to Ian from Forgotten Weapons for sharing quite a historical find. You sir have an eye for military history and the knowledge to back it up, too.
