Teaching kids to love adventuring in nature isn't always easy. While they may love being outside, they are kids, after all. They get tired, hungry, and thirsty, along with many other complaints. One little boy, Elias, aired his grievances during a hike, and his dad caught it on video. He shared it on his Instagram page, @miltonarcos, and the outcome is pretty hilarious.

As the camera pans to him trudging up the steep hill, you can tell he is done. The little guy is even toting around his very own walking stick. He says, "Ughhh! The sun is wearing me off." When he reaches the stone stairway, he tries to give himself just a little bit of encouragement with a "Keep goin'." And keep going he does, pulling himself up the stairs with his hands and feet.
His dad asks him if he is having fun hiking. He gave a pretty honest answer, without any hesitation: "No. Of course, I don't."
The little guy launches into his list of complaints, prompted by dad's off-camera question, "Okay, Elias. What are your complaints?" The young man does not hold back.
"I'm hot," he says. "I don't want to carry all this stuff. I only need my Patagonia hat. My feet hurt." It's true; carrying all your gear on a hike can be a drag, and most kids hate lugging all their own stuff no matter where they are. But it's the reality of the trail: you should be prepared with the right gear. The end of the video shows Elias airing his final grievance, one most parents are quite familiar with, "When can I get some water and a snack?"
Instagram viewers loved how relatable this little guy's commentary is. One wrote, "Love this so much! He's a sitcom." Another wrote, "Best heavy sigh ever, Elias."
The only thing missing was, "Are we there yet?"
