Pennsylvania is taking no chances when dealing with CWD in the wild deer population.
Two free-range deer with ear tags were euthanized and are now being tested.
Here's what the Pennsylvania Game Commission had to say after the incident:
Chronic Wasting Disease, commonly known as CWD, is nothing to take lightly. The deer obviously came from a captive breeding facility. While the Facebook post does not tell us if they were behaving oddly, it was apparently deserving of enough concern to euthanize these two deer.
A CWD positive deer was already found earlier in the Disease Management Area 3 zone.
At least the Pennsylvania Game Commission is taking the matter very serious and working to stop Chronic Wasting Disease. If you want to know more about Chronic Wasting Disease this website will give you a crash course of what CWD is all about.
