This dog retreat is located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina. Dogs must be kept on a leash when outside your vehicle and be properly cleaned up after. Who forgets poop bags! I swear I have them in every pocket.

The camping season opens in April and closes towards the end of November.

The Bartoscheks take great pride in the campground they created for dog lovers and their pets, and the success of this one-and-only dog-dedicated campground proves that people want to be able to enjoy the camping experience with their dog.

Hiking with our dogs is one of our favorite activities on long weekends. Here are some tips:
- Follow the leash laws wherever you go
- Pick up after your dogs!
- Stick to the trail, we have SO many lost dogs around here on short trails
The grooming station alone is amazing! Campers can enjoy hikes yet their best friend can enjoy so much more! Our dogs would love the agility park, hiking trails, swimming pond, lake, and the small dog park since they're on the smallish side. If we lived closer we would absolutely have events there and potluck lunches with friends. I have to admit that I really like the idea that's open to adults since children and dogs don't always mix well.
