Cape Buffalo vs. Elephant: Who will win in a battle between these two massive members of the Big five? The answer is not as obvious as it seems at first.
You never know what you'll run into on a visit to Kruger Park. These visitors got the rare treat of seeing a showdown between a Cape Buffalo and a massive African elephant, which are two of the most dangerous animals in Africa. Let's just say that the results of the confrontation were a little surprising.
As the saying goes, it's not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog that matters. Clearly that can be applied to cape buffalo as well. Known for their aggression and bad attitudes, it's not surprising to see a big bull stare down an elephant like that. I don't care who you are, it takes some serious guts to stare down an animal that is literally 6 times as heavy as you are.
While it worked out this time for the buffalo, that's something that can quickly turn ugly if the elephant calls the buffalo's bluff and decides to fight.
