We're already intrigued by what we see from ThermoThink: They're releasing the first auto temperature controlled hunting jacket.
How far away did you think we really were from a battery-powered hunting jacket?
The ThermoThink Jacket isn't even available yet, but by any accounts, the buzz surrounding its release is one of the biggest to hit the outdoors in a long while.
The cool thing is that the original idea came from real outdoorsmen, and was sparked by the significant temperature changes that occur in their home state of Nebraska. They experienced a problem lots of American sportsmen face, and began the quest or creating a jacket with sensors that could detect internal ambient temperature, and then be able to do something about it.
They kicked things into high gear when they discovered a unique electronic device that both heats and cools. Then they combined efforts with mechanical, software and electrical engineers to fine tune the hardware, Bluetooth programming and firmware.
Of course, the final design needed to not only work on the inside, but look good from the outside. And by look good, we mean "be invisible to wild game."
And of course, a ThermoThink app was needed to easily and confidently control the jacket. What they eventually came up with is a very user-friendly app with an intuitive interface, loaded with features allowing you to customize your jacket experience.
