A new Special Edition Silverado and Colorado will help Chevrolet celebrate 100 years of trucks.
Officially announced late last month at the State Fair of Texas, the debuts of the Centennial Special Edition Colorado and Silverado mark the start of a 100-day celebration finishing up with a big event in December at the Texas Motor Speedway.
Since 2018 marks the 100th anniversary of the first production Chevrolet truck, Chevy has shared word of a bunch of cool ways they're recognizing and celebrating the iconic brand's hardest working members of the auto family.
Because a centennial is well wroth celebrating, don't you think?
The Centennial Edition Colorado includes all of the features available on the Z71 crew cab, with an added Centennial Blue exterior color, front and rear heritage bowties, and a 100 year door badge on either side. There's also a body-color rear bumper that really stands out, and an accessory grille surround. Chevy added a chrome belt molding, chrome accessory tow hooks, mirror caps and handles, a nice spray-in bedliner with bowtie emblems, and some LT optional 18" wheels with monochromatic cap.
The Centennial Edition Silverado is basically an LTZ Z71 crew cab but goes a few steps further; the Centennial Blue exterior paint comes back, plus the front and rear heritage bowties, 100 year door badges, spray-in bedliner with heritage bowtie emblems and accessory floor liners with heritage bowtie emblems.
The Silverado also includes 22" painted wheels with chrome inserts, beautiful 22" all-terrain tires, chrome tow hooks, and a chrome bowtie on the steering wheel. That's a really nice touch that's unique to these editions.
The national rollout of the Truck Legends customer loyalty program makes anyone with 100,000 miles or more on their truck an instant member, with benefits fit for a legend.
On Saturday, Dec. 16 Chevy will head to the Texas Motor Speedway for a huge event. Word has it the event will feature a chance to meet Chevrolet fans like Dale Earnhardt Jr. It's free to attend but is invitation only, with Truck Legends members being the first with a shot at scoring them.
Chevrolet has a lot to be proud of, and these Centennial Edition Silverado and Colorado models look pretty slick. Stay tuned and keep an ear out for more from Chevrolet as they approach the end of the 100-day party.
