Wait, there's an M14 Rifle in the AK-47 caliber?
Yes, there is an M14 rifle in 7.62x39mm that exists. The Chinese actually made them.
Ian from Forgotten Weapons checks one out in this cool video.
What happens when you cross-pollinate the M14 rifle with an AK-47? Well, the resulting offspring is the Norinco M305A rifle.
Norinco thought the M14 rifle should go from the more powerful 7.62x51mm cartridge down to the com-bloc 7.62x39mm. You know, the stubby cartridge used in the SKS and AK-47 family of weapons. The Norinco M305A even takes AK-47 magazines. Why? Personally I am at a loss of words.
Special thanks go out to Ian from Forgotten Weapons for show casing this strange rifle.
