Labrador retrievers love taking a dip in the water. After all, their first job was diving for fish in Newfoundland. Videos of labs splashing and swimming can be found all over the internet. They are certainly fabulous swimmers once they get into the water, but some pups have a little bit of trouble getting into pools. Boomer, known by his social media handle @boomer.the.lab, loves to swim in their backyard pool. It's an above-ground portable pool where you have to use a step to get in or, in a dog's case, run and leap to get inside. With one swift jump, Boomer would be in. But what happens when you just aren't feeling the whole "jump or run" part? Boomer's pool entry fail demonstrates exactly how a sloppy pool entry can go. The hilarious video is set to an ionic beach anthem, "Surfin' U.S.A." by 1960s rock band, The Beach Boys.

The video opens with Boomer's front end in the pool and his little wiggly backside trying to follow along. Boomer is trying every which way to get his back half into the pool with his front end—his legs go left, then they swing right, with no end in sight, all while water spill out the side of the pool. Finally, Boomer's front half is able to pull his back half into the water. He is so proud of himself! Boomer loves to swim, and TikTok loved his ruff entry, so his dog mom made it into a whole series. Currently, Boomer's pool series is up to part 29!
In part five, Boomer was given a set of steps to get into the pool.

However, he must have been feeling frisky that day because he flew past them, jumped, and landed 99 percent in the water. Then, after a short wiggle, his feet joined the rest of him!
In Part 16, Boomer's dad decided to build him a platform step, thinking that would do the trick. Of course, Boomer was the chief puppy supervisor on duty throughout the whole project.

Dad spends forever building the step. Once it's in place, he pats it and tells Boomer to jump up. With a wag of his tail, Boomer takes one look at dad and the platform and uses his go-to mode of entry, jumping over the side. Poor dad! The series is up to 29 and counting, but Boomer is still not using the platform dad made for him...
