I enjoy this video because it shows an experienced shooter figuring out why the 1911 remains one of America's most popular pistols. You will see pros and cons of the 1911 design all over the internet. To the cons, I can only say they must be doing something right for it to remain so popular.
I am a huge 1911 proponent and it really is my favorite pistol. Many of my friends who use only Glocks, Sigs or other types have been won over when they get to run some rounds through my 1911 and they want to add one to their collection. Still a great design and just requires training and use to be highly effective with it. That being said I get it if people choose to use another gun type for EDC and service duties; you go with what feels right and what you have trained on, without question.
The 1911, as long as it is made by a reputable manufacturer, is still a great gun and you would be hard pressed to find one better, right out of the box, than the 1911 Springfield Armory TRP; as close to custom as you can get.
