If you think you've seen a largemouth bass catch serious air, wait until you see this.
When you think about the usual highlights of a deep-sea fishing trip, massive sport fish and healthy runs of blues probably come to mind.
What probably doesn't come to mind are fish randomly skyrocketing into orbit. However, these fishermen were graced with the acrobatic abilities of what looks to an especially fit Spanish mackerel.
Get ready to watch the Lebron James of saltwater fish, which can somehow jump a stunning 20 feet in the air using only its own body strength.
Watch the video below:
How high do you think that fish actually was in the air? It's kind of hard to tell from the angle in video, but it's probably safe to say I've never seen a fish jump that high.
What's even more intriguing is the thought of having this fish on the other end of a line and having it jump like that!
While fighting a largemouth bass will get the adrenaline flowing, I don't think anyone will try to make the argument that a largemouth bass can do that.
So, if you decide to go big-game fishing in the near future, be sure to keep an eye out for the high-flyers!
