Security cameras caught some surprising footage of an unbelievable breaking-and-entering incident at a lingerie store, Curvaceous Lingerie, in Lansing, Michigan on November 6, 2023. The culprit: a young buck—and no, that's not a euphemism.
The cameras first hone in on the cervid perpetrator, outside of the store. Without warning, the young male deer dashes across the street and careens into the glass door at the front of the store. Cameras inside the lingerie shop capture glass exploding everywhere as the buck makes his shocking entrance.
But he's not done wreaking havoc just yet. The buck then leaps over a mannequin, managing to disembody it as he goes, then crashes into a rack of lingerie. A woman standing nearby dives out of the way just in time to avoid ending up like the unlucky mannequin.
The deer appears to get stuck underneath a table, and while it gets its legs back underneath it—with much flailing about—the woman runs to the front door and opens it.
But the buck refuses to be shown the door that easily. He crashes around the store some more, upending more mannequins and knocking over racks before getting stuck up against the window by the front door.
The camera angle moves back outside, showing two confused bystanders looking on as the deer rears up against the window, trying to escape.
Eventually, the buck tires himself out, and with some helpful guidance from the woman, walks meekly out the front door—presumably without paying for any of the merchandise he destroyed.
According to Curvaceous Lingerie's Facebook post, no one was injured. Within 45 minutes, the town had turned up to help clean up the mess of broken glass, mannequins, and furniture. The deer had cut itself on the glass and left blood all around the store as well.
The store's owner appeared to take the incident in good stride, saying she'd never had to look through merchandise for deer blood before. The front door has been temporarily replaced with some plywood art, reading "We Fit Every Rack."
Some people at the store told local news station WLNS 6 that the deer smelled funny and could be sick, but no further information on why the deer may have crashed into the store, and the deer is still on the loose.
