The firefighters get some real-world exercise in this deer rescue!
The rescues of wayward deer from getting stranded on ice continue this winter. This latest one comes to us from Foster, Rhode Island when a deer in distress was reported on Barden Reservoir.
Thankfully, volunteers from the South Foster Fire Company were there to save the day.
The deer's escape after it got back on the ice wasn't exactly graceful, but it's good to see it'll live to see another day.
There's been no shortage of ice rescues of wayward animals from ice or other predicaments this winter. The good thing about these types of rescues is firefighters get some real-world experience that could prove valuable when they have to rescue a person.
Great job South Foster Fire Company, keep up the good work!
