Animals have been known to get stuck in trees from time to time, but only on special occasions is it a deer. Instagram user Mike Ford stumbled across the sight of one during a recent hike through Blackhand Gorge State Nature Preserve in Ohio.

The video's caption, shared by Nature is Metal, explained that the whitetail deer "had apparently taken one too many steps or was spooked off of a ridge and had jumped into a tree, where it was either impaled or stuck which ultimately led to its death."
However, some in the comments speculate that it could have been a cougar caching its kill in the tree, but that seems unlikely as experts say mountain lions rarely do that and don't really live in the area.
And then, someone else suggested the deer in the tree was an elaborate art piece and your guess is as good as mine. So why is the deer stuck in a tree? Given that there's higher ground beside the tree, it's reasonable to believe that the deer probably fell.
