Fisherman accidentally sends his buddy's drone into the drink!
More and more fishermen and women are starting to utilize drones. They are a great way to get a bird's eye view of the waters from above to spot hidden structure, points, and hidden waters to fish. Also, for those who like to film and document their fishing adventures, a drone can offer some truly spectacular views of the place you are fishing, preserving memories that will last a lifetime.
There is just one problem. Most drones are not waterproof, which means you are taking a chance every time you fly it above water. Because if the drone crashes, well, you better hope you have an extended warranty or you bought a protection plan after going in the water.
In today's video, these guys are simply out to film some fishing. At first, their primary worries are about the strong winds. That turns out to be the least of their problems after one of them makes his first cast. You see, it gets a little too close to the drone, and well, you can guess the rest.
Ouch, as a fellow drone owner, I felt that crash. That must be the worst feeling in the world to watch such an expensive piece of hardware go swimming from an errant cast. We could not tell if it was the lure striking the props or simply the line getting tangled in them. Either way, that cast led to an immediate dip in the pond, and presumably, a completely ruined drone. Well, at least the recovery was easy. All he had to do was reel it in!
Give the guy some credit, he was a good sport about the whole thing. Even with the friend holding the camera laughing uncontrollably at the incident. Honestly, we cannot blame that guy for doing that either. What are the odds that the very first cast perfectly hits the drone's blades like that?
The lesson to take away here is if you are using a drone while fishing, keep it high enough in the air that the casts do not have any chance of interfering with your flight!
