This one's a puzzler.
Every once in a while a video pops up on the internet with absolutely no context that just leaves us scratching our heads. That's the case with this video uploaded by Instagram user buckbassfishing.
We're not sure what this thing is or who built it, or for what purpose. But watch it catch a fish all on its own!

It appears someone rigged together one very crude-looking, but incredibly effective fishing robot. The base appears to hold a battery powering the whole thing. It looks like there may be some RC car servos in there to help the thing pivot around? It's hard to tell because the video is a bit grainy.
Even though we can't see it, I'm guessing the cameraman or someone else we can't see is operating this strange fishing device via remote control somewhere. It can't just be automatic. I'm also guessing this isn't the U.S. It's hard to tell, but the fish looks like a pacu, which would place the video somewhere in South America.
One thing is for sure, someone went to a whole lot of effort to make something to catch fish without ever laying hands on them. It kind of takes the fun out of fishing, but it does make for a most amusing and strange viral video!
