Growing up in the Shockey family meant an interesting upbringing, but it led to a true love for the outdoors.
Welcome to the first episode of a very special collaboration between Eva Shockey and Wide Open Spaces!
For those of you who don't know, Eva Shockey is a wife, mother, author, and hype-woman for all things outdoors.
Her dad, Jim Shockey, is about as well-known as they come in the larger part of the outdoor industry, and it was on his Outdoor Channel show "Jim Shockey's Hunting Adventures" that Eva personally experienced hunting for the first time. Since then, it's become an important part of who she is and what she does.
Along the journey, Eva met her husband, former professional hockey player Tim Brent, and was blessed with two amazing kids, Leni Bow and Boone.
They live in North Carolina, a region much different from Eva's first home on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, but a beautiful place to enjoy the outdoors. Eva avidly participates in hunting, fishing, and wild game cooking, all while balancing her passion for the outdoors with the raising of her children, the designing and decorating of a new home, and her effort to fulfill the role of steward and conservationist in hopes of preserving an outdoor lifestyle for future generations.
Eva and her outdoor family are making the most of a healthy lifestyle and doing their part by sharing tips and tricks for building a strong appreciation for the great outdoors.
