Small, yet sassy.
Chihuahuas are a small dog breed, but have enough attitude to make up for it. The 33rd most popular dog in the AKC registry, these small dogs have Terrier-like qualities and are not afraid to act larger than they are.
They can be short-haired or long-haired and come in all types of coat colors. Chihuahuas have large eyes and big personalities. The breed can be traced back to ancient 9th-century Chihuahua, Mexico where there are even ancient paintings that resemble modern Chihuahuas.
Chihuahuas don't need much exercise due to their small size which make them good city or apartment dogs.
