Families Afield is America's most successful hunter activation program.
With hunting numbers in decline, groups across the outdoors industry are trying everything they can to attract new sportsmen and women.
Because of a wide variety of efforts to grow the number of hunters, it's become a general rule that every hunter has a responsibility to introduce at least one non-hunter to America's oldest pastime.
However, no effort has been as successful as that from Families Afield, an alliance of the hunting industry's most reputable groups, as it's now introduced hunting to more than 2 million new people.
Created in 2005, the coalition a product of hard work by Sportsmen's Alliance, National Shooting Sports Foundation, the National Wild Turkey Federation, the National Rifle Association and the Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation.
By primarily pushing for the implementation of apprentice license programs for youth hunting, Families Afield has delivered some eye-opening results.
Apprentice licenses allow new hunters to try hunting under the supervision of a mentor before spending an entire day going through a hunter education program.
At SHOT Show 2019 in Las Vegas, it announced that 2,233,338 apprentice hunting licenses had been sold in 40 states.
Congratulations to Families Afield on an unbelievable milestone, and thank you for your hard work in preserving the future of hunting!
