Fisherman Pulls 200-Year-Old Flintlock Rifle Out of Lake Winnebago

What's the most interesting thing you've pulled up with your boat's anchor?

When you're out fishing, you're bound to pull up just about anything.

This guy found an incredibly unique historic artifact.

While fishing at Lake Winnebago, the Fond du Lac resident pulled up anchor and found a 47-inch-long, rusted rifle encrusted with zebra mussels.

Experts believe the flintlock rifle rested at the bottom of the lake for at least 200 years.

The rifle might be rusted with the stock mostly missing, but it's a priceless piece of American history.

The history of the rifle remains unknown, but it makes a great story, and Groff will proudly display it in his home.

How's that for a fish tale?
