Live vs. artificial bait has been a long-standing discussion for anglers.
Previous videos have looked at which type of bait was more effective. This time, YouTuber 1Rod1ReelFishing looks at how the action of artificial bait for bass stacks up against the real McCoy.
The artificial baits in question are a snake, a fish imitation, a toad, a frog and a worm.
Having to find all of the live bait made the test even more challenging. Crayfish presented the most difficulty, as the only critter found that was even remotely similar was a hellgrammite.
We won't ruin the results for you, but we can say some of the action of both live and artificial baits are disappointing. However, it can be said that artificial bait manufacturers do a pretty good job simulating the action of live bait.
One part of the video that doesn't disappoint is that 1Rod1ReelFishing has his dad help out, and he is a character!
