We're here at Lake Guntersville for the 5oth Bassmaster Classic, and are sharing the experience with daily updates and more.
The 2020 Academy Sports + Outdoors Bassmaster Classic presented by Huk is about to get underway, and we're in Birmingham, Alabama gearing up for the big weekend tournament held on Lake Guntersville March 6-8.
We're getting some exclusive access during the festivities, and will be sharing daily recaps here on the site as well as bringing you behind the scenes content on our social media accounts, most notably on Facebook and Instagram. Follow us there to get the latest from bass fishing's biggest weekend of the year.
The 53-man field is set, practice is through, and the weather looks to be clearing up after days of rain and cold temperatures, about as cold as Alabama gets in March. It's shaping up to be a strategy-based, find-them-and-you'll-catch-them sort of Classic, and we'll try to share every moment we can with you.
We'll also be attending the Classic Expo and the daily Weigh-Ins, hoping to bring the hottest of what's happening in the bass fishing world straight to you. Boats, trailers, rods, reels, baits, and anything else you can think of takes the spotlight, and we'll shine it on the things we think you ought to see.
We've already heard from Abu Garcia, Ugly Stick, and Berkley, which are all releasing new gear and ad campaigns, which are representative of the way the fishing industry is headed: towards innovation and technology, but without forgetting their roots.
That's what makes an event like the Bassmaster Classic so special. It brings together so many like-minded people, of all ages, genders, and backgrounds, for the sole purpose of being at the epicenter of all things fishing. And to add to that, it's here in Birmingham, Alabama, essentially the mecca of American bass fishing.
Check back in daily, and be sure to interact with us on social media throughout the weekend. What would you like to see? Who would you like to hear from? We'll do our best to give you as much as we can until the trophy is lifted Sunday night.
It's all part of staying on the pulse of the biggest events in the world of the outdoors, and it's what we're here for.
If there's anything bigger in the competitive fishing world, we haven't found it yet.
