Ford has issued a recall for roughly 203,000 2016 Ford F-150s and Explorers due to issues with front power seat adjusters which could become loose in the event of a crash.
In affected vehicles, the faulty front power seat adjusters carry an upper left side pivot bolt which could become loose or fall out, forcing the seat cushion to move and leave drivers and riders unrestrained in the event of a crash.
According to Ford, affected models were built between Jan. 22, 2016, and April 19, 2016, with affected vehicles in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. To date, no crashes or injuries have been reported.
As a result of the recall, the iconic automaker is expected to take a $267 million hit in Q4 earnings by the Securities and Exchange Commission.

All affected owners will be notified as of Jan. 8. If your vehicle is part of the recall, please have it repaired at your local Ford dealership Specifically, these repairs will measure the power seat bolts torque.
If it fails the test, dealers will disassemble and reassemble the unit with new threadlock to fix the problem, at no expense to the owner.
