This IGFA All-Tackle-Record, two-spot red snapper is an absolute beast!
Reports from the IGFA revealed that French angler Philippe Drouhin landed this beast of a two-spot red snapper while bottom fishing off the coast of Rodrigues Island, Mauritius. The amazing fish was landed on December 12th during a trip with Capt. Yann Colas.
The official weight of the fish was 15 kg (33 lb) which put Philippe in the position for a possible IGFA All-Tackle-Record.
One thing is for certain, that fish put up one heck of a fight. Big snapper fight down and dirty especially when hooked in deep water.
There is nothing easy about winning a battle with one of those fish! I am sure these fishermen were glad all their tackle held up long enough to get that fish to the surface. Great catch guys!
