Garmin continues to revolutionize the outdoors industry.
Earlier today, Garmin International, Inc. announced the introduction of solar charging technology to three of its most popular smartwatch lines—the Instinct, fenix 6 and 6S, and the tactix Delta.
Following the success of its first solar charging adventure smartwatch, the fenix 6X Pro Solar, Garmin decided to expand its transformative technology to other popular offerings.
With the intent of allowing its customers to "Do What They Love Longer," Garmin's new installment will offer users significantly improved battery life, as well as all-new, purpose-built functionality for various outdoor activities such as surfing, mountain biking and climbing.

Instinct Solar
Perhaps the most intriguing for hunters and fishermen is the Instinct, which had already made a name for itself since launching in 2018. With the addition of solar charging technology, the Instinct Solar can provide unlimited battery life with sufficient solar exposure while in Battery Saver Mode.
While in Expedition Mode, the Instinct Solar will offer increased GPS functionality and can maintain battery power for more than two months. Even without solar energy, it'll stay alive for up to 24 days indoors.
In addition to making those long, backcountry hunts safer and more thorough with solar charging capabilities and improved GPS features, the Instinct Solar is also compatible with other Garmin products, such as dog tracking/training collars, the Xero A1i Bow Sight, the inReach Mini satellite communicator and other various Garmin GPS systems.
Garmin also debuted the Instinct Solar Tactical, which brings the most popular smartwatch among military personnel and shooting enthusiasts full circle. Offering specialized tactical features such as night-vision google compatibility and a stealth mode, extended battery life is undoubtedly a game-changer.
And, for all the beach lovers out there, Garmin also added an Instinct Solar Surf Edition to the lineup, which provides surfing-specific features to make the most out of each wave.
fenix 6 Series Solar Editions
New to the smartwatch line, the fenix 6 Pro Solar and the fenix 6S Pro Solar champion the success of the fenix 6X, catering more to the active lifestyle customer. Offering two different sizes, men and women alike will enjoy weeks of music streaming, physical training features and onboard mapping without any concern for battery life.
Each watch caters to a wide variety of physical exercises, but also offers in-depth activity profiles for surfing, mountain biking and indoor climbing.
They also offer topographic maps for outdoor expeditions as well as detailed maps for over 2,000 ski resorts and 41,000 golf courses.
With a commitment to healthy living, the fenix 6 smartwatches also offer advanced sleep monitoring.
tactix Delta Solar
As the fourth generation of the tactix legacy, this smartwatch has a reputation to uphold. Built to military standards (MIL-STD-810), it provides up to 21 days of battery life indoors and up to 24 days with sufficient solar exposure, while also offering mission-ready features such as stealth mode and a kill switch to clear all user memory.
A rugged design dons an always-on, 1.4-inch display with a scratch-resistant sapphire lens, a black DLC-coated steel bezel, a black PVD-coated steel rear cover and a tactical nylon band.
Also featuring mapping, music and training features offered by the fenix 6 Series, pairing in-field capabilities and everyday convenience.
