Giant 6x6 Velvet Elk Hangs Out with Some Hikers

Hikers get surprise visit from a giant, beautiful elk in velvet.

As hunters, we devote insane amounts of time and energy into getting within range of our favorite animals. For me, one of my favorite challenges is getting within bow range of a big mature elk. The amount of preparation and practice that goes into getting ready for those hunts is both impressive and scary. And it all culminates when you're looking down the peep sight at one of nature's most majestic creatures.

Then, you see this.

It's an awesome sight. But it really makes a guy wonder why he works so hard. I guess timing is still everything, and these hikers happened to pick the right place a the right time.

Hunter or not, this is a crazy cool experience.
