Glock just made the ultimate power move.
When Glock Inc. decided to appoint a new spokesperson, they weren't just looking to make some noise. No, they wanted to blow everyone away with a perfectly executed roundhouse kick.
That's right, Chuck Norris will be the global firearm manufacturer's new spokesperson. Norris, a world-champion martial artist, an actor, a producer, a philanthropist and an entrepreneur, has become jack of all trades since his days of "Walker, Texas Ranger."
So, the move certainly fits into his collective direction, especially considering his deep admiration for Glock.
"I'm honored to partner with this world-renowned brand," Norris said in a press release. "The values that I have built my life and brand on—tough, real, constant and powerful—are echoed in everything that Glock does and creates. Let me put it this way, if I ever decided to go into firearms, there would be no point—I would just be recreating what Glock has already built. The only thing that would change is the name."
Chuck Norris was undoubtedly a strong fit for Glock, too. As such a recognizable figure with such a positive reputation, Norris would be a home run for any firearms company, but Glock sees a perfect connection for them specifically, claiming the two pride themselves on persistence and innovation in the same manner.
"Chuck Norris revolutionized and ushered martial arts into the American mainstream just like Glock revolutionized firearms by inventing and commercializing polymer-based pistols and the SAFE ACTION System," Vice President John Dorsey said. "Having him represent the Glock brand brings two iconic names together that are mutually committed to perfection and their fan base. We couldn't be more excited about this partnership."
Norris will join Glock for a number of various campaigns and public appearances, which will begin with the NRA Annual Conference April 26-27 in Indianapolis.
