GM Issues Recall for 1.2 Million Vehicles for Steering Issue

GM has issued a recall for more than 1.2 million vehicles due to a faulty steering mechanism that could affect electric power delivery.

The issue stems from a lack of electric power due to a drop in voltage, causing a vehicle to temporarily lose control.

Usually, this occurs at low speeds, the result of faulty software that was also the subject of a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra truck recall last year.

All affected models are listed below.

2015 Chevrolet Silverado
2015 GMC Sierra 1500
2015 Chevrolet Tahoe
2015 Chevrolet Suburban
2015 Cadillac Escalade
2015 Cadillac Escalade ESV
2015 GMC Yukon
2015 GMC Yukon XL

As a result, there have been more than 30 reported crashes and injuries.

To learn more about the recall, visit the NHTSA recall page or call Cadillac at 800-458-8006, Chevrolet at 800-222-1020, or GMC at 800-462-8782.
