Whether you realized it or not, July is National Grilling month, because no month in the United States is more synonymous with cooking up a feast in your backyard more than our nation's birth month. Of course, nothing goes with a cookout quite like some frosty cold ones.
That is why Hamm's Beer and Big Green Egg grills have teamed up for a summer giveaway that is all American in nature.
The two brands plan to give away 20 Hamm's-branded MiniMax Big Green Egg grills. Here is how you can get in on the action.
Green Eggs and Hamm's
Of course, the name for this contest writes itself from the classic Dr. Seuss children's book "Green Eggs and Ham." In this case, it's "Green Eggs and Hamm's." Because grilling and beer are one of the greatest combos ever conceived, this match was a natural fit.
Hamm's beer is an old brand, started in Minnesota by a German immigrant in the 1850s, Theodore Hamm lived the American dream by creating a successful beer brand still in business in the 21st century. Today the company produces Hamm's beer and Hamm's Special Light brews.
Big Green Egg meanwhile, is a modern take on dome-shaped earthen cookers found in the ruins of ancient civilizations around the world. The grills first took off in Atlanta with a simple clay cooker in 1974 and they now brand themselves as an "all in one" cooker that grills, sears, smokes, bakes and roasts with ease.
The rules for their new contest are quite simple. Participants are asked to follow @hammsthebeer and @biggreenegg on Instagram. Then, upload a video or photo showing why you are "a HAMMpion of the grill." Include a brief caption or explanation, not more than 150 words with your entry. All entries must have both a text and visual portion to be eligible. With your Instagram post, include the hastags #GreenEggandHamms and #Contest.
From there, Hamm's will choose 20 people to win one of the new MiniMax Big Green Egg grills. Just in time for your end of summer cookouts! There is still time to get in on the contest as entries will be accepted until Monday, August 10. The winners will be announced Thursday, August 20.
