Korean automaker Hyundai is greenlighting a production version of the Santa Cruz, its first ever pickup truck, after years of delays.
Debuting at the 2015 North American International Auto Show in concept form, the pickup may make its debut by 2020.
Initially, it was scheduled for a 2019 release until former CEO Dave Zuckowski's ouster in Dec. 2016, which delayed its launch.

The Santa Cruz shares the same platform as the Tucson, a cross-over-pickup hybrid with little specificity to date, other than a 2.9-liter turbodiesel for 190 horsepower and 300-pound-feet of torque. Its exterior is crease-heavy, with a smaller than average truck bed, cat-eye headlamps, absurdly-high wheel arches, and deep reverse L-cuts on the passenger doors. It will also seat five passengers.
No word on what specifications, if any, will deviate from its concept form.
