Wow your friends, family, and deer camp buddies with this simple yet delicious deer snack and recipe.
One of my favorite parts of hunting is being able to enjoy my harvest from field to plate. Always trying new venison recipes has lead me to a few of my favorite wild game recipes. These jalapeño deer poppers are sure to leave your mouth watering and be a top of your list as well.
The prized venison back strap (and the tenderloin) is one tasty chunk of deer meat. Slap on some cream cheese, jalapeños and onions, and wrap it in a nice cozy bacon blanket and your taste buds will be thanking you. Quite frankly, they will be begging for more.
Simple and easy, you can whip these venison jalapeño poppers up quickly and bring them to your deer camp this year and instantly be a crowd favorite.
It is also a great way to introduce someone who's never had venison before to the great meals it can provide. If you didn't grow up around hunting and eating wild game, the thought of eating deer meat can scare many.
Picky eaters or not, it is hard for them to grasp eating those animals they see flashing in front of their cars over the roads.
Don't forget about the toothpicks, they make all the difference in holding the slice of bacon in place around the fresh jalapeño halves. And remember, jalapeño peppers can vary in spice level, so beware!
This meal can be a stepping stone to opening their mind to hunting as well as the benefits that come along with it. And one of the best benefits just so happens to be those delicious back straps.
Enjoy these awesome wild game-infused bacon wrapped jalapeños as some great appetizers and you can thank us later.
