For years, outdoorsmen and women have been searching for the perfect mobile camp, but it's been around all along.
There's nothing more American than the family camping trip. Having the perfect mobile camp that can get you into and out of hard-to-reach locations helps you beat the crowd.
Check out Larry Shank's setup, which includes a 1953 Willys Jeep and a 1947 Ken Skill Kustom Kamper. It may be the perfect mobile camp to get you to your next outdoor adventure.
Per Petrolicious:
Traveling off the beaten path may seem extreme, but [Larry] has a different perspective: "You arrive not exhausted but exhilarated; because you're already there, you're already on vacation..."
His father taught him how to drive the Jeep and fix the Jeep, and set up camp; their relationship was close and unique, he says. For his father, vacations were a way to reconnect with nature after months at a demanding job at Lockheed.
"You could not go the places he wanted to go unless you had this. There were dirt roads, sandy roads, where a normal car would not make it," Shank says. "The Jeep could get him every place he wanted to go."

Sharing outdoor passions with your children is a great American pastime that was not lost on Larry's father. Taking the family on a road trip in his prized Willys Jeep was also a lesson in mechanics and caution in the backcountry.
One of the best parts about this setup is that it provides everything needed to spend some comfortable time outdoors without bringing too much stuff. The teardrop camper with a boat strapped to the roof trailing the Willys Jeep will take you virtually anywhere you want to go on the land or water.
What do you think? Is this the perfect mobile camp?
