Kansas Game Wardens Bust Two Turkey Poachers in Osage County

Two poachers were charged with trespassing and hunting without a license.

Game wardens all across the country are keeping busy this spring as they deal with turkey poachers.

One of the latest incidents comes out of Osage County, Kansas, where wardens received a complaint of poachers trespassing and hunting turkeys without permission. They were later able to track down and arrest two suspects in the case.

The suspects were both hit with charges for not having hunting licenses and hunting private property without permission. There were also charges for taking a wild turkey without a permit, hunting from a vehicle and wanton waste of a turkey.

The suspected poachers ended up in Osage County Jail after the incident. They posted a combined $5,000 bond.

While turkey poaching incidents seem to be less common than deer incidents, there have still been a few notable busts across the country already this year.
