Think back to the origin story you remember hearing about the Jeep. It's a military-utilized concept that started with our men and women in uniform, but do you know where it officially got its start?
Raise your hand if you knew it was Pennsylvania...
Back in 1940, it was Bantam who delivered the first prototype to the U.S. Army, known back then as the Reconnaissance Car.
Even though Bantam eventually lost out on the bulk of the manufacturing deal to other companies, they were the first, and delivered what would become World War II's difference-making vehicle.
