KUIU has had a busy fall introducing new additions to their already extensive line of hunting clothing, and they just announced a new pair of hunting gloves that seek to provide a packable, insulated, lightweight option that doesn't skimp on keeping all your digits warm.
The new KUIU Kenai weigh just 2.8 ounces and compress neatly into a mesh stuff sack that will seamlessly fit into a pack when you're not using them. They appear perfect for those unexpected shifts in weather patterns in the mountains. KUIU made the outer shell from a Toray Stunner stretch ripstop fabric that has been treated with K-DWR water repellent to help provide water resistance.
For insulation, KUIU went with Primaloft Cross Core Aerogel insulation. If you've never heard of it, this insulation is serious stuff and was originally developed by NASA. Because it's comprised mostly of air that helps form a temperature barrier, it stays warm in extreme heat and cold. At the same time, it compresses easily for a tight fit so you can easily operate a bow or rifle using these gloves. They are also windproof.
KUIU also added a silicone print on the palm to aid in grip, and a conductive film on the thumb and index fingers that help with dexterity without having to remove your gloves to operate your equipment effectively. There's also a gauntlet cuff which makes them easier to pull on and off.
As we've come to expect from KUIU, they are offering these gloves in their signature Valo, Vias, and Verde camo patterns so you can match it to the camo clothing and gear that you already down. They are also offering a solid color ash and gunmetal color scheme if you want to use the gloves for more than just hunting.
The KUIU Kenai packable gloves retail for $79.99, but they're on sale right now for $47.49 direct through KUIU's website. Check out the site for more information on these gloves and all their hunting clothing options.
