James R. Mikac, 57, is facing a $4,500 fine plus court surcharges. Since all hunting is banned year-round in this suburban Buffalo neighborhood, it goes without saying Mikac and his crossbow would end up on the wrong side of the law.
Oh, and he shot it over 50 pounds of corn spread in his yard under the window. Also, did we mention he was charged with illegally taking a deer in the same town in 2011?

He tried to tell the Lackawanna Police "he lives next to a cemetery where the deer are overpopulated."
Lackawanna Police Department Captain Robert Janowski said his department may be filing additional charges.
Well let's see. He baited the deer, targeted it inside the city limits, and poached it weeks after the season with a crossbow. Yeah, he's in trouble.
He had already paid some $1,500 in fines for the 2011 incident, so apparently he has money to spare when it comes to poaching wild game.
