It's no secret that country singer Luke Bryan and his family are outdoor enthusiasts. Bryan has posted about hunting and has even gotten pranked in a hunting blind. However, a recent fishing trip ended with his youngest son, Tate, in the emergency room.
According to social media post by his mom, Caroline Bryan, a fishing hook to the knee didn't stop Tate from being brave. Caroline posted the video to her Instagram page of her and her son in the ER assessing the injury. "It doesn't look too deep," Tate tells his mom. "Still, it's in there," she replies—though she does seem a little bummed about having to cut his brand-new pants.
The video ends with her asking Tate, "How ya feeling?" as she angles the camera down to the hook in his knee. He calmly replies, "I at least caught the trout."
"At least I caught the trout," says Luke's famous dad. "Dat's my boy."
Caroline took the injury in stride, seemingly not very bothered by the whole situation. As a mom to five kids—three of them boys—trips to the ER are just part of the territory. She even captioned the video "another trip to the ER" and tagged the hospital in the post.
Apparently, the Bryan family is well acquainted with the Williamson Medical Center. Caroline and Luke even starred in a commercial for the Tennessee-based medical center. The humorous ad features the couple in the back seat of a car heading to the ER, being driven by none other than NASCAR legend Darrell Waltrip. The irony is that Luke's injury was a fishing lure to the neck. The ad was in support of the newly expanded ER.
Luke Bryan has had plenty of real-life bumps and bruises from his fishing adventures. In 2021, he got a fishing hook stuck in his hand. He shared the painful-looking jab with fans on his Instagram page.
As with his dad, we doubt this injury will prevent Tate from heading back out fishing anytime soon.
