Legendary racing brand McLaren is celebrating its 15,000th production vehicle.
The 15,000th vehicle, a Curacao Blue 570S Spider, rolled off the production line at the McLaren Production Centre (MPC) in Surrey, UK. This marks its seventh year in business, with the 15,000-milestone coming less than a year and a half after its 10,000th car was produced.
In 2016, second production shift was added due to growing demand, doubling production from 10 to 20 units a day. The sports car company has seen huge growth and has made technological strides to modernize its models like the Curacao, which features a top speed of 200MPH.

Making It Count
"Reaching 15,000 cars built is a significant milestone for McLaren Automotive and comes under 18 months after we hit 10,000 vehicles, showing how demand and production have increased, said Mike Flewitt, the company CEO. The Sports Series has been pivotal to driving this growth, with the 570S Spider now the most popular of the range."
Founded in 2010, McLaren Automotive's arguably greatest year was 2015, when several new models were introduced including the 570S, 540C, and 675LT, with an all-electric supercar on the horizon.
