For over 50 years, James Phillips has been an antler hunting master. Now, 15,000 antlers later, he has a collection fit for a king and is affectionately known as Antler Man.
James Phillips of Three Forks, Montana has been collecting shed antlers for most of his 66 years, and he has no plans to stop any time soon.
After all, living in an area where horns seem to drop like rain, he found his niche in life long ago. When you see some of the antlers he has collected, you'll see why he has made it his life's work. The art he has made from those antlers is truly awe-inspiring.
Here's a taste of what the antler man from Montana has put together and why he'll never quit after "64 feet of antlers and over 50 years of collecting."
The mule deer mount that can be seen in the center was completed during the Great Depression.
The mount in the center here is in velvet and has a sheep on either side.
The center of this picture features a 6x7 elk with royal tines that are over 25-inches long. Phillips says, "The problem with putting a bunch of large racks together on one wall is that they don't look that large."
A nice moose set makes an appearance.

With over 350 pictures on his website, you can see for yourself what a lifetime of shed collecting can look like. Phillips collected and sold over 2,100 elk and deer sheds in the 1980s to put three daughters through college, but has never once bought an antler or a set.
Phillips says, "I don't have anything against those who do, but I just never have. Pound for pound, I have packed every antler you (are going to) see."
With a record like that, it's no wonder he's called the "Antler Man." Take a walk through the legendary pictures of a man who has spent his life in pursuit of every antler that ever fell off the head of an animal who had them.
