Here's your first look at the newest 9mm pistol from Mossberg, the MC2c
O.F. Mossberg & Sons, Inc. has introduced the 9mm MC2c, a compact handgun released after the successful launch of the subcompact MC1sc last year.
This second-ever pistol created by Mossberg comes in a few different configurations, which will include two frame options (standard and cross-bolt safety); a choice between two slide finishes (black DLC-finished or bead-blasted stainless steel); and optional TRUGLO Tritium Pro Night sights.
The slim profile of the MC2c promotes concealed carry or home defense use, and the gun comes with both a flush-fit 13- and an extended 15-round double stack magazines.
Mossberg decreased the size and stature of their already-popular handgun design down to a 3.9-inch barrel length and overall length of 7.1 inches. The extra-slim width of only 1.10 inches and height of 4.90 inches puts it well within the preferred concealed carry parameters. When you think about it, that's a pretty high capacity considering the narrow width and overall size. You can thank Mossberg's design engineers for that.
Weighing in at 21 ounces unloaded, the frames of the new MC2c are made of glass-reinforced polymer, giving the gun high tensile strength and stiffness, plus impeccable impact and chemical resistance.
Of course, Mossberg put extra effort into maximizing the ergonomic features of the MC2c, with an added palm swell and grip angle. This is said to give it a feel similar to a 1911, and Mossberg's signature aggressive texturing makes for a more firm, confident grip.
What really helps set the pistol apart is Mossberg's Safe Takedown System (STS), first debuted with last year's MC1. The STS allows for a user to disassemble the handgun without engaging the trigger. Cleaning and maintenance is a lot easier when compared to other handguns, just as Mossberg intended.
Dovetail-mounted, low-profile white 3-dot sights come standard, along with a front accessory rail, an oversized trigger guard, and a flat-profile trigger with an integrated blade safety. The trigger pull weight comes in at about 5.5 pounds.

The main differences between the different MC2c options are the cross-bolt safety, a black or matte stainless slide finish, and the inclusion of TRUGLO Tritium Pro sights.
The MSRP will be $490, and $595 for the TRUGLO-equipped version.
