'Naked & Afraid' Star Sam Mouzer Talks Treatment For Wince-Inducing Injury

Naked & Afraid survivalist Sam Mouzer ranks among the most unlucky people to ever grace the show. He's injured his private parts on multiple times, earning him much sympathy.
On the latest season of Naked & Afraid XL, Mouzer got a tick at the worst place possible. Upon discovering the tick, he appropriately freaked out and began screaming as his fellow Naked & Afraid survivalists asked him what was wrong. Mouzer attempted to remove the tick himself, but he couldn't get it off. The insect burrowed deeper into his skin.
He told the audiences, "On my first challenge, I actually had a hot coal pop out the fire and burn my junk. And now, I've got a tick trying to eat away at my helmet." Mouzer ended up having to get the medical team involved. So how exactly did they remove the tick? They used what Mouzer called a bladed device.

'Naked & Afraid' Star Sam Mouzer Gets Honest

Speaking with TMZ, Mouzer said the medic took the knife to the insect. It must have been a particularly tense situation with a knife approaching something so sensitive. Of course, there was another way to remove the tick, but Mouzer wasn't a fan of it. Mouzer said the medic could have burned off the insect.
However, Mouzer has a traumatic background with fire and his nether regions. He wasn't willing to let the medics burn it off. Neither option was particularly pleasant. Last year, Mouzer accidentally burned himself when hot coal popped from a fire and hit him in the groin.

Speaking with the outlet, he said, "My member is all fully functional and in working order again. I'm happy to report. The truth is we've been getting peppered with hot coals from the particular type of wood we were burning. It was flying left, right, and center like meteors. So it was a matter of time, and sadly myself was in the wrong place at the wrong time. It just hit that bullseye." Please enable Javascript to view this content

Mouzer also described what the pain was like. He said, "The best way to describe the pain is to imagine nubbing a cigarette out on yourself. It's probably the best way to describe it. Sudden and sharp then it becomes deep and throbbing. I don't think it will cause any problems for me. I've run diagnostics, and everything seems to be in working order. I got a very small blemish there to remind me of the adventure." Please enable Javascript to view this content
