New Gear Guide: Berkley Fusion19 Bucktail Jigs

The new Berkley Fusion19 Bucktail Jigs are sure to get bit.

Berkley has pushed the envelope in 2018 with one of the largest new product introductions in recent years. Not only did they showcase ten new topwater hard baits at ICAST, but are also set to release almost 1,000 new shapes and sizes of plastics in the PowerBait and MaxScent lineups. Another new gem is the Berkley Fusion19 Bucktail Jig, set to hit tackle store shelves this December.

The bucktail jig market has been somewhat stagnant as of late, with very few refinements or tweaks being made. That is set to change with the release of the new Berkley Fusion19 Bucktail Jigs.

The first thing you'll notice about these new bucktail jigs are the dual line ties on the jighead. This will present the option for multiple presentations, whether you're jigging or retrieving. It's definitely a nice addition.

What more can I say about the Berkley Fusion19 hooks. These things are razor-sharp, corrosion-resistant and as sturdy as they come. If fish so much as breathe on these jigs, they'll surely catch a hook. And, speaking of hooks, Berkley uses a round style with those jigs ranging in weight up to half an ounce. Heavier jigs come standard with an O'Shaughnessy-style hook.

The flat-bottom-head design allows the Fusion19 Bucktail Jigs to rest perfectly on bottom. And, for those anglers always wondering which jig they have tied on, Berkley has printed the weight and hook size on the bottom of every flat head. No more guessing games!

A bait keeper is also standard on the Fusion19 Bucktail Jigs, keeping soft-plastic baits such as Berkley Gulp in place. It uses high-quality thread wraps with each jig, keeping bucktail material secure and pristine.

Another great thing about the new Berkley Fusion19 Bucktail Jigs is the variety of weights available. There are 12 sizes in all, ranging from 1/8 ounce. all the way up to 8 ounces. For those wondering, this heavy weight jig has a monster 10/0 hook!

Whether you fish for walleye, smallmouth bass or one of the many varieties of saltwater swimmers, the new Berkley Fusion19 Bucktail Jig promises to fool any and all fish.

It's available in eight fish-catching colors and with an MSRP of $3.99-$9.99 (US).

The Berkley Fusion19 Bucktail Jigs will be available Dec. 17, 2018.
