Help the Oregon State Police find the poachers who did this.
It may be spring, but the poachers haven't stopped their illegal activities just because deer are no longer in season.
Case in point, wildlife officials are offering a $2,000 reward in the investigation of multiple deer suffering shots from arrows in Shady Cove, Oregon. The Oregon State Police first respoded to calls to check on a deer walking around with an arrow still stuck in it April 27.
Authorities were unable to locate the deer, but later that evening, another trooper in the area discovered two deer walking around with arrows in them. The press release from the Oregon State Police states the deer were feeding and walking around, and the injuries didn't appear life-threatening.
Troopers believe there may potentially be three deer that were shot in this manner. Police originally offered up a reward of $500, but that increased to $2,000 after the Oregon Hunter's Association chipped in an additional $1,500 for leads in the case.
Police are encouraging anyone with information to call the Oregon Turn-in-Poachers hotline at 1-800-452-7888 or the Oregon State Police at 541-776-6111. Callers have the option to remain anonymous.
