Peacock bass fishing takes on whole new meaning when it's next to the highway.
By now most of you have seen videos with fisherman catching fish out of their local storm drain. How about peacock bass fishing, though? These bass native to South America are gradually making their way into the canals and estuaries of Florida.
Apparently they are also making their way into storm drains.
You might wonder how these even end up in such a nasty environment and survive. One can't fish in any ole drain. The drain must feed into some body of water that is near by.
The fish then swim their way up into the drain where lucky guys like this guy fish them right out. Pretty genius actually. Grab some light tackle and start 'casting'. You won't have to fight crowds. At least you won't have to fight crowds of fisherman, but you might want to watch out for pedestrians. Oh, and don't back up to far, or you might end up in the street.
Nonetheless, sewer or storm drain fishing is growing in popularity, especially when there are trophy peacock bass in the bottom of them.
